D'amore staples and shapes have nothing related to baroque oboes.
Most d'amore shapes are triangular (as are oboe shapes), where as baroque oboe reeds require almost completely rectangular shaped reeds. d'amore staples are around 25mm and fit on a bocal, baroque oboe staples are around 55mm staples depending on the pitch level and bore shape, and require string wrapped on the bottom of them to fit into the reed well... the differences go on and on and on.
For the second octave modern oboe players roll in. Baroque oboe players roll out. You're basically playing a different instrument practically unrelated to its modern counterpart.
