To give you a bit of a comparison. Baroque oboe reeds are about 9.0 mm wide. Modern oboe is around 7.0 mm and English horn is 8-8.3mm wide.
They are massive. I was lent a baroque oboe this summer and it is radically different then modern oboe. There is significantly less back pressure and you have to use much less air. After a few weeks I put the baroque oboe back in its case and returned it.
