Regarding your sagging middle C ..
Check how high RH1 raises the pad. If there is a lot of "give" in the connector between the two main joints, these pads (A-Bb , B-C) may not raise sufficiently. Try levering it open slightly more (put some folded paper at the joint and see if C is still flat. Is it flat in the top register as well?
If this does not work, get your teacher or another oboist to confirm that C is flat. If so, my advice is to take your brand-new greenline back to the shop you got it from and get it professionally checked and adjusted for tuning. when buying a pro instrument you have the right to expect it to be in tune.
When I bought my Loree at Howarths, a respectable gentleman was trying out a few oboes in the room next door. I asked him for a second opinion about the instrument, and he listened carefully. He suggested that top C needed taking up a fraction, but apart from that he thought it was fine. Howarths took the instrument away, brought it back 20 minutes later with top C adjusted 10 cents higher. This time, Neil Black OBE approved (for it was he).
