I play a Covey, and I buy reeds. My general experience has been that most reeds (usually made on Lorees) arrive with too much tip.

My backup is a Loree, and it does seems to be OK with the longer tips.

I don't have enough experience with other instruments to know if this is a consistent feature of these brands. It's just my personal experience and observation.
