Hmm...
I'm assuming that you've discounted all of the normal problems - e.g.,
o leaky reeds,
o top joint seals with > 8 sec suction
o over-adjusting the F#-G# connection (just rotate the joint to discount this one),
o over-adjusting C-Eb connection (does Eb go all the way down, with LH Eb and C depressed? Does C go all the way down?),
o F# tone hole (between RH1 and RH2) is closing gently AND
RH2 closes fully AND
RH3 closes fully
o forked-F vent closes fully with RH2 + RH3 depressed.
The most difficult area on the bottom joint to adjust is the F# tone-hole, RH2 key and forked-F vent, when fingering D. A difficult balance of forces there. The RH2 key must close fully with light finger pressure (grabs the cigarette paper firmly), and the other two keys must also close, but grabbing the cigarette paper a little less firmly.
You aren't hitting the D trill key by mistake on the way down, are you?
That's just off the top of my head. Some books recommend backing everything off, and starting again :-)
Good luck,
J.
