Last year Howarth began making all of their Cocobolo instruments with a upper joint half plastic liner. I'm sure Chris can confirm this, but I'd say you probably don't need to worry about oiling much if it's plastic. Maybe almond oil or something natural and soft would be fine for the rest of the top joint.
