Be quick, go get a Wii then.
My friend just confirmed that the Wii was a great help. The Balanceboard will show your weight distribution, in four directions: to the right, left, front or back. So it will show you when you stand straight up with even weight distribution on each leg. You can then train your muscles to stand in that way, even though one leg is weaker and will feel different than the other.
She warns not to try the snowboard game, that will NOT be helpful for your recovery. Meaning it will probably hurt a lot if you do, and knowing her, she tried at least twice. Fortunately she's fully recovered now.
You may want to get a silicon cover for the Balanceboard, which will guard it against dirt very well. If you don't use it, the surface will get grimey soon, and the structure of the shell makes it hard to clean. Besides the cover is relatively cheap.

Great to hear you can at least play again. Keep them tendons supple!
