But doesn't "floboe" generally refer to an oboe and flute solo together? lol.
English horn actually derived from a mis interpretation. it was really called "cor angle" angled horn or something. and Angle sounds like anglais...
Perosnally English horn has always been fun because people that don't know what it is, always assume I play a brass instrument. Sometimes annoying, but enjoy correcting people lol. and then there's the fact that no one knows what the hell cor anglais means lol.
