Who's that oboist?! Robert Bloom is the oboist on many of the "Columbia Symphony Orchestra conducted by Bruno Walter" recordings, but as I can't remember this one, I'll probably have to do some research on it. If this is a New York Philharmonic recording, then it would probably be Harold Gomberg. Of course, being a Still student, I would recommend his Mozart Quartet and Concerto recordings; two other oboists to listen to would be Marc Lifschey, former 1st in Cleveland (Bach cantatas, 56 & 82 with Robert Shaw - Walton Partita for orchestra with Cleveland - second movement solo and Stravinsky Symphony in C and Pulcinella Suite, Cleveland) and Eugene Iztov, new first in Chicago (Rachmaninoff pieces?).
