Interesting that you mention the period instruments, which in fact are not! The thing about these excellent Dutch musicians...they are always aware of performance practise and try to do their best to apply whatever knowledge is available to them on such matters....Very respectable music making!
James, your 2 examples are very classy indeed! Indermuhle...such a sweet sound and a legato that is to die for...and Mayer...as always is such a pleasure to listen to...how lucky we are to know and play the oboe!
