 Which Howarth to get?

I am looking at getting a second oboe for outdoor/chilly use and am looking at either a Howarth plastic upper or lined upper model. I have found either a used plastic upper S55 or a new lined S40 for about the same price. It seems the split D key is the obvious different between the two models (missing on the S40), but the lined joint would be more stylish. Opinions?
