... bearing in mind that ABRSM is UK specific, the popular collections of pieces cited over there aren't widespread over here, with approx 10 publications being the most popularly cited for their Gr 1-7, but these do not cover all three test categories for selecting pieces, still have to select specific composer pieces to meet the 3 categories -- just browsing and converting into Canadian dollars i note that prices are steeper than say Gekeler 1 & 2 and still have to add international postage & handling on top
... Canada does RCM rcmusic.ca but the (new) oboe syllabus isn't available online at the moment, have to purchase hard copy to find out what pieces are assigned to various grade levels. There are two books, Prep Test, and Specimen Sight Reading Tests, but no preview inside these books is available at rcm website
... Gekeler apparently covers RCM equivalent Gr 2-4 in Book 1 and 6-8 in Book 2. The Schubert Moment Musical No 1 in Book 1, p43, is a cited piece for Gr.4
... Rubank is not cited, IMO the difficulty levels go to Gr 7/8+ in the Advanced 1 & 2
... not to advertise any particular store, for info only in USA sheetmusicplus.com has the RCM Preparatory Test For Oboe with a 'look inside' which gives a fair idea of the beginner difficulty level, and also Specimen Sight Reading Tests for Oboe Gr 6-8 likewise
... ditto comment, forrestsmusic.com 'grade' their oboe sheet music 1-5 (1 easy 5 really difficult) if that's any help in USA for specific oboe solo titles you might have in mind
if you're more advanced than elementary oboe Gr 7/8, several of the universities have posted their oboe curriculum online with specific pieces so the year they're required should help determine difficulty
hope there are more sites out there even more useful ...?
