hmm...well, i've only bought a commercial reed once--it was from charles double reed company. i didn't really like it, but i have to say i'm very much a reed perfectionist. if it's not amazing, it annoys me lol. but it wasn't horrible, and since you're starting out, you could try these before you start getting reeds from a teacher.
but yeah, run a post search here on the board...you can also try a search on this other forum i find interesting:
