I suggest that you find a good teacher who scrapes his/her own reeds. The teacher can fashion the reed to your needs as you progress. As a beginner, you need to establish good basics early such as embochure and breathing control. Jay Light describes a story of Marcel Tabuteau when he took a students "best" reed from him and told the student to learn to play on bad reeds first. You've chosen to play an instrument where the "weak link" is the reed. You will be wasting a lot of precious playing time without the help of a competent teacher.
