... as a wry aside, and nothing to do with your actual situation, i was having trouble with my low B & Bb the other day, they just wouldn't sound at all, the mechanical looked fine, the pads were closing, i was using C key as well, nothing looked bent since last time i played and put oboe away, the reed was playing everything else and had played low B's before

... big mystery ...
