I did try cleaning those pads and it's still the same. So... I guess it's me! (drat)..
This is a new to me oboe so I guess I'm still getting used to the different shape. For instance, the finger plates are more domed than my Cabart's are.
Maybe something like that makes a difference.
So I'll do the exercises that Chris suggests. Are there any others that would help or any other helpful ideas?
It is good to know that it's not an uncommon problem.
And Drew, I can't quite figure out which note is occuring between the A and C.
It goes too fast for me to catch.
BTW, I always wondered what the check-out people in the drug store thought when a teenaged girl bought cigarette paper and pipecleaners...they never asked but they probably wouldn't have believed me anyway.
And Dutchy, you can always blame blips on your reed. Just take it out, scowl at it, mutter under your breath, heave a sigh of resignation, put it back and play!
