rather than worry about which is the best fitting staple for your crooks(bocals), have you tried buying some soft plastic breathing/oxygen tube used for aquariums? Force the staple part way into the tube, then cut off about half a centimetre below the base of the staple. This then happily grips the crook, stopping it from rocking, or sliding off. This was my great discovery about 10 years ago. Give it a try, and good luck. James
