There was a whole thread a while back -- maybe on the clarinet board? -- about how our pets respond to our musical efforts.

Our dog (a b-i-g mixed breed -- greyhound and dobie?) refuses to leave the room, but adds her voice to the chorus with great regularity. This afternoon, she was sleeping when I started playing. She didn't even bother to raise her head. Just kinda hummed along.

Then there was the time our little trio (called "Second Wind", because we're all adult re-beginners) was playing in the living room -- building a chord. First the oboe sounded a pitch, then the clarinet, then the bassoon -- and then the dog. Her timing -- if not her pitch -- was perfect.

Funniest thing, though: the oboe doesn't provoke her vocalizations as much as the clarinet. And the bass clarinet is guaranteed to get her participating.

There is a lady on the clarinet board who writes absolutely hilarious stuff about how the creatures in her house (Shadow Cat and a rat called Dick Vigorous) respond to the various instruments. (Go to the search link for the Clarinet Board and/or Klarinet List and search on "Shadow Cat".)
