I don't want to clog the board with frivolous updates, but I'll keep y'all posted from time to time.
Right now I am agog that anyone can play the oboe for more than 5 minutes. After about 2 or 3 minutes my embochure is blown and I have to take a substantial break (like an hour) before I can try again without everything imediately going flabby again. I know, it's just new mucles being put to work, but it was a surprise. I didn't expect it to be <i>that</i> hard! Slap of reality #1...
Oh, and the dog has registered her opinion. As soon as I pick up the oboe, she flees upstairs and hides under the bed. Can't say as I blame her.
