Hi everyone,
I bought two reeds at our local music store in town. Since they were low
in stock, I purchased a reed not known to me, Good Tone Guild. They
have a website which shows their products.
These reeds have a different tone than the ones I've been using, but I think
they are professional reeds, medium strength. They categorize their reeds according to strength then numbers. Mine are medium #4's, which are the
softest of the mediums.
Do you have any comments about these reeds? They seem to be more air resistent, and they have a darker sound.
They also have a wire wrapped around the base of the cane. Do you know the function of the wire? I suppose that I'm suppose to leave it on.
