C to A transitions

Hello,
I am an oboe returnee - played in high school and hadn't played seriously for thirty years. I had a Cabart(made before Loree took them over) and bought a lovely used Yamaha in March(so much easier to play and a lovely tone!). My current problem is that I'm having a hard time making the C - A and A - C transition smoothly in quick passages. I'm getting an extra note between the two.
This is in the middle to upper registers. I have no trouble with long note transitions. I'm not sure if it's me or the oboe. I don't recall having this problem with my Cabart, but then, I had many issues with that oboe.
Does anybody have any suggestions?
