Hello, I play bass and soprano clarinet in my school's band/ marching band, and I can reach altissimo C on the bass clarinet easily. However, for some reason unknown to me, it takes a huge effort to push past altissimo G# on soprano, and I have been told by my aunt (who played the clarinet herself) that the notes I am playing do not sound anything like they should. I play a Yamaha YCL-255 student clarinet (I have been lobbying for the last three years for a new Bb clarinet and an A clarinet) and I need troubleshooting. Does anyone have any suggestions or maybe some different fingerings for the notes past G?
