 Oboe II etiquette

I'm subbing for the second oboe player in a community orchestra. I've never played oboe in an orchestra before, and I'm wondering if there is a protocol that person follows with respect to the first oboist.

For example, I notice that our first oboist tunes up to an electric tuner and then gives the orchestra the "A." Would it be fair for me to also tune up to a machine, or should I tune up to her?
