I play both C and F recorders, and switching back and forth is inevitably a pain at first, since the fingerings are the same but the note that's produced is a fourth apart. I get all kinds of bleeps and blips at first, until my mind wraps itself around the fact that "Oh, we're playing F now". I assumed the same would be true of the clarinets.
