Re: Wooden oboes easier to play?

I started playing on a plastic oboe which didn't have a brand name. My teacher knows someone who works in the Marigaux workshop and he got him to slightly realign (not sure if this is the correct term) the bore. This made a huge difference in the ease with which the notes came out.

I have since up-graded to a second-hand wooden Marigaux which has a much nicer tone but it is not really any easier to play.
