I suppose it depends what kind of reed you use, but the american scrape reeds tend to have the most adaptability when going between oboes, seeing as they are right in the middle of the dark/bright spectrum. I don't think oboes are really easier or harder to blow per se. I would say the main difference is tone, not resistance. I'm not sure exactly where any resistance would come from anyhow. The one thing with french reeds, although their intonation is sometimes off, they tend to be very good with pitch. American reeds, with their thinner backs, sometimes have pitch issues in the upper octaves. In any case, you sound as though you've got your reeds figured out, so have fun!
