Same here - I've been called to do a fair amount of cor playing since I bought one, which was my main objective as I only took up oboe to play cor - I'd rather specialise on the deeper oboes (as well as d'amore and bass oboe or Heckelphone if I can borrow one!) than stick solely on oboe.
I feel there's much more to give playing cor, and there's definitely a lot more you can get away with if the reed isn't perfect - cors aren't as picky as oboes when it comes to the reeds being spot on - they're much more forgiving and will still work when oboes will just give up on a bad reed day.
