It depends on the scrape of your reed and the type of reed - try K.Ge reeds to see how different they are.
I've gone back to playing on them now, and certainly notice my tone is much darker and has more weight to it, though you will obviously need to do some adjustment even if it's only scraping a tiny bit of dust off to get them to play how you want. I used a brand new one last weekend and it did exactly what I wanted it to do, and I could push it to fff without the tone breaking up.
