 Re: Covey oboes

The one time I played a covey was a long time ago, on Rebecca Henderson's horn, who is currently playing principal in the National Symphony, and is the oboe prof at University of Texas in Austin. As I recall, my impression was the same. The intonation was superb, superior to any Loree I've played, and the low notes seemed to be about as easy to play as middle C or D. The evenness to this basically made the oboe extremely easy to get around on, and resulted in a kind of "silkyness" that I've worked so hard to get in my playing with Loree, but came rather naturally with the Covey.
