But seriously, Baron kiddo...if you think that playing the Strauss concerto perfectly and going to a big conservatory is going to GUARANTEE you a 95-110K USD a year job in an orchestra, you are extraordinarily misguided, and you will be very let down and disillusioned. It's better to approach this with a pre-set grateful frame of mind, and do it because you love it. If you are LUCKY ENOUGH to get one of these jobs, never forget that you are there ONLY because you were lucky, and cherish every second of it...because there will ALWAYS be thousands of equally if not more talented younger people waiting there, snapping at your heels, who would take your job in a New York minute.
