I buy made reeds and tweak them to suit me - I do like Torda reeds, Hayley that makes them has copied the scrape her former teacher (and my teacher's former teacher) the late Anthony Camden's scrape, and these do play and last well for me. I've resurrected one which I've played on since May, and it's still hanging in there! It's too good to give up - even with a split down the length of one blade it's still delivering.
I used to like the K Ge long W scrape reeds, but the recent ones haven't been to my liking (short U scrape) and take a lot of work to get them right, whereas the ones from about 10 years back were pretty much ready to go with very little fettling needed.
