Tonal paths.......
meaning the idea of tone production. Something like the kind of tone to have. Heavy? Dark? Light?

Anyways i myself play the dutch pattern, although i live in malaysia. The serious oboe students over here convey mostly on this because the active teacher in malaysia mr. Joost Flach, a famous oboist in the local orchestra and a fine music educator in asia.

I am not sure about the making of the reed. But definitely it is not as complicated as the american style. It has a U-scrape defined pattern and more 'vibrations' are produced, making it heavy but considered in the middle of the european and american style.

I get my reeds from another professional in the country, but since i live in east malaysia(enough with the geography, but east means a sea away from west), i have to get them by mail. Tough job. The only brand of store bought here are La Voz, which i've quit playing since i;ve got the chance to play on some 'real' ones.......
