I agree with the "someone" discussion. Point blank I will have to say for a while you will sound like a bagpipe. To not sound like a bagpipe you have to learn the following:
1. learn to start and stop the notes you play on time.
2. learn to hold long notes without messing up the pitch of the note.
3.learn to play softly and not just loud.
4. finally after you can do the above, you have to learn how to add some vibrato to the tones without giving up control of the pitch; then you will start down the path of a nice tone and not sound like a bagpipe. All of the above takes time---maybe a year if you have an instructor who plays an oboe.
