<<I'm only on page 19 and I just know most of the stuff by "number" and not name. Gekeler II is probably a few months away for me.... Good luck >>
Hey thanks J, going to need that luck, i'm only chugging along at largo on those 16ths arpeggio scales in Gek II exercise section, the minors even stickier than that ...
Some of my faves in Gek I
p.12 #6 (lots of fun now i'm able to pickup the pace)
p.13 #4 & #5 (#2 nice as legato contrast)
p.14 #6 (took me ages to get my fingers co-ordinated on that one)
p.15 #6 (still working on it, it should be easy but it isn't {:-]
p.16 #5 (what a fun piece of Mozart, easy to start, infernal to finish)
p.18 #5 (now that i can do it allegro rather than andante)
p.19 #3 i'm working on full length version found in Jay Arnold's solo book
it has an A major section as well, with repeats, lots of possibilities for subtle interpretive expression
Further along, the G min studies p.21 sound lovely to me
p.22 #7 has a misprinted extra bar in it ... can you find it?
p.24 & 25 4 flats still a struggle for me, but getting closer ...
... and good luck to you, anticipating progress out of Book I to Book II in only a <<few months away>> dare you to just take a quick peek at p.45 #1 & 2 and the killer pinky slides #4, and the devilish glee of Mozart p.46 #1, andante wasn't Mozart's tempo i betcha :-)
