my son , having been playing clarinet and now new to oboe, and after being warned about GENTLY swabbing his oboe, sure enough got it good and stuck ., as it seemed to have gotten twisted in the bore. it looked as if we would have to take it to a professional repairer,
but after a couple of days of drying out , we were able to pull it back out after grabbing the string that was looped back and jammed with a crochet hook being careful not to scrape the bore. this didn't work while it was still damp. thank goodness. hopefully he remembers after this!
