I was given a photocopy of the score a long time ago, when I went through my love affair with avant garde music. The bars are broken up into seconds. You have to play all of this stuff notated in the bar in five seconds. It is likewise notated for the strings. All of the altissimo playing is forte or louder, so you can really let it rip; put your teeth of the reed and squeal out a high B. As far as the extended technique there are a couple of really good resource books available (if anyone is interested in playing a la tromba, multiphonics or timbral trilling); a book by Peter Veale and one by Libby Van Cleave.
If you want to hear some real virtuoso playing, listen to the Bernard Rands Concertino for Oboe and chamber ensemble. The opening comes from an unaccompanied work Rands wrote for Richard Killmer, and that was expanded and turned into a concertino written for Richard Woodhams. I have the recording of it and it is some spectacular playing. I also heard John Ferrillo play it with the Boston Symphony Chamber players; it was pretty impressive to say the least.
