 Bass Oboe Vs. Heckelphone?

I tried both a brand new Heckelphone and a Loree bass oboe a while back now, and to be honest I thought the Loree bass oboe had the better tone and playability of the two (and a more realistic pricetag).

The Heckelphone played well with a huge, thick oboe-like tone, though I thought it could be much better considering the cost of the thing - the keywork was bendy and I thought it could at least be better finished for the price, and the pads were also of the squishy leather bassoon type as well which didn't feel positive.

The Loree bass oboe is about a third of the price of a Heckelphone, and I felt this was a much easier instrument to get on with, it could have the weight of tone and volume similar to a Heckelphone if played with a reed which was compliant (but sounded much more like a deeper, fuller cor anglais - which it pretty much is), and the general feel of the keywork was more solid under the fingers (being cork padded), and a lot more reliable.

Has anyone tried a Marigaux or Fosatti bass oboe? If so, how do they compare to Loree basses?
