I use a pointed flat steel oboe plaque for EH reeds, moving around the plaque as I scrape. It's fatter than the rounded flat steel oboe plaque. However, I do find it likes to plane off the edges of my cane, if I'm not careful inserting it. On occasion I use my wood contoured EH plaque, especially when trying to thin out the heart or create the blend (I find that the flat plaque I end up squashing the tip of the cane too much). However, I really don't like using it much and I find it puts too much pressure on the blades to flare out.
I even use the pointed oboe plaque for the baroque oboe, but it's really too tiny and slides often. I will use the contoured EH plaque for that moreso, but I still like the flat plaque for the majority.
