I had some forearm troubles some time ago, but after a while I notice that I only have the problem with two of my oboes, not the third one, and the two I had problem with had similar thumb-rest, not the third oboe. I changed the thumb-rest between two oboes and the pain was moved together with the thumb-rest. Now I have bought new thumb-rests and the problem has disappered (I hope forever .
