I have committed myself to perform the Pasculli "La Favorita" concerto this Fall. The last time I played it I was 20 years old and I'm 49 now. I've always believed that Pasculli is best played by younger people, so hopefully I'm up to the challenge.
I've started practicing and things seem to be going well, but my forearms and right shoulder are a bit sore. I'm concerned about getting a repetitive motion injury. I've had one before from using a computer keyboard.
Does anyone have any practice tips to avoid such injuries? So far I'm limiting myself to 15 minutes of continuous practice followed by a break of at least that long before I start again.
