I am Malaysian.....Haha....which makes purchasing Cds quite a difficulty...
judging by cost....i posted this question on the classical music guide forum, and Ralph told me to buy the exact same cd! But there is still one question remaining....Breitkopf and Hartel wouldnt have made a mistake right? It says that it is in G major. And yet Holliger's edition is also in G major, BUT the Hungarian recording does not mention of a 2nd G major!
Quote from CMG forum which i posted:
Even the booklet shows confusion of some sort.....at least i cannot understand what it was trying to express.....so while enjoying the concerto let me just quote the text written inside the booklet:
"In his (Dittersdorf's) richly anecdotal autobiography he refers to two oboe concertos commissioned in 1757 by the Count of Breda for his "virtuoso oboists", although, as it turned out, Dittersdorf wrote only one of them. In their catalogue supplement of 1775 the publishers Breitkopf and Hartel list three oboe concertos, but none of them can be identified with the G major concerto."
The text that followed was an analysis of the piece itself. And no other text is printed which concerns of the concerto in discussion. But there is something else, printed under the song list is this:
Quelle:
Autograph of the score
Regensburg Bibl. Thurn & Taxis: Ditters 33
I am not too sure if it's out of print now, but i know it was recorded in 1983, and i am not sure where to look for a catalogue number, i mean, which one? There is a 427125-2 written beside the Stereo marking.

p.s: Wai Kit, you mean you know of 2 separate G majors too?
