Also... I've noticed that oboes $2500US oboes in the US are also $2500CAN in Canada so there could be savings to be had at a Canadian music shop. (I'll have to check my bookmarks when I get home)

It's an even more significant savings if you were looking at $6000CAN oboes.

Enough so to justify a weekend getaway to Canada to play test and take home an oboe.

$2500CAN = 2114US
$6000CAN = $5074US

Round-trip ticket from Los Angeles to Canada $400  :)
