Has anyone used the pad cleaning papers http://www.muncywinds.com/index.php/yamaha-pad-cleaning-papers.html, or the BG pad dryer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnqPAKX5lLI?
The papers come in either powdered or unpowdered styles, and are sold in packets of 100. The pad dryer (BG) is a little super-absorbent thingie that comes one to a package and is for multiple use.
Last week, a colleague had trouble with his "A" key sticking repeatedly. He took it to a good local repair tech, who told him the problem was a damp pad (actually, I had already suggested to him that that was the problem . . .).
The tech sold him a packet of the powdered papers, and the problem seemed to be largely solved, until the end of a long concert on a warm evening, when it started sticking again.
My question though, before I run out and buy any of these things, is a) do they work; b) is there a potential problem with the powdered version ultimately causing a paste-y buildup on the cork pad; c) are the unpowdered papers or BG device actually superior to cigarette papers for this job?
I would welcome hearing about any of your experience or thoughts about this product.
Susan
