"Also, unless you make your full time salary playing woodwinds, you can't consider yourself a professional. I say semi-professional, because right now I don't make a full time salary playing music. However, I have made supplemental income over the past 5 years, along with other employment. If you have a sales manager job, and perform on the side, and if you quit that sales job and wouldn't be able to make a living solely by performing, I don't know if I'd consider that professional. You may be a fine player, not a professional."
I DO make my full time living playing woodwinds.
My reference to being being in sales was in the past tense.
For the past five years my sole source of income has been playing multiple woodwinds.
