Hi Chris- Good observations!
I can not fathom why the left C# is not offered standard equipment by all makers of professional model oboes. It could not possibility cost scarcely any more to construct a left C# than to make the extremely awkward "banana key." A lever, two posts, an axle, and a cross lever for either.
