Okay, now that some of us have been taken to task, let me make a serious comment. What we really need is a cork grease that causes the cork to swell a little bit so that when we put the pieces together, they really seal tight and then when it's disassembled , it also swells slightly. Of course, the glue should not be allowed to dissolve. Because I was told my revered Loree BF-51 was due for its last tenon recorking, I allowed it to get away from me, something I would never done, if there were a modern technology cork grease available, as I've described above.
