I 'rotate' my reeds, placing the geriatric ones in their own place after giving them a good cleaning.
When the weather changes and nothing works, it's amazing how resilient those old babies can be, and pull me through a pinch...
When my 'best' reed starts to get a little wonky, I play it less and plan for it to join the 'aging reeds' club.
Somehow I manage to get several lives out of my reeds.
But then again, I don't play as much as some of yous.
