I am in the market for a new English horn and am starting to research different makers. I am of the generation where, as students, we were all told Loree was the only good maker acceptable for the North American market. It has been a welcome change to hear about all the different brands of oboes being played in the U.S. today. I currently play a Loree oboe and English horn but am interested in other makers. I am leaning toward Marigaux but played a beautiful Rigoutat this past Fall. I also played a Howarth and it didn't get me excited. I would be interested in hearing people's thoughts about these makes as well as Buffet, Fossati, Bulgheroni, and any others not mentioned. Thank you for any information or experiences you would like to share
