The Oboe BBoard

Hi everyone,
I specifically registered for this board to ask this question. No one that I know has been able to help me and so I am getting a bit desperate. I make my own reeds for the oboe and have done so for the past 11 years. I learned and studied reedmaking from my undergrad in college and I've never experienced this problem until this year. For some reason when I slur from any of the notes inbetween Bb (third line) and C natural to their higher octaves, the oboe will continue playing the lower octave note. It is very frustrating and I don't know if it is the reed causing this or the oboe. In fact, it seems that on some reeds my oboe plays fantastic and then on others that I think would play fantastic, it would do this and my hopes for the reeds are shot.
Any suggestions on what is going on? Is it the reed? Is it the oboe? I really think it is the reed because I've had students play on my reeds and sometimes the same issue happens for them on their oboes. The reeds aren't too open so I don't think that is the case.
Thank you for any feedback or insight!!
- K
