I like to play with my eyes closed. Sometimes it's easier for me to play the music in my head instead from the score.
Also, my teacher sometimes will close my books suddenly, and will have me repeat what I just played. (It's not very cruel, just short pieces).
It's just too bad that my fingers can't always keep up with my inner ear. But somehow it's just easier with my eyes closed and more often that not, I end up playing parts of the music more fluently.
Also, my own musical experience is vastly different when I play with my eyes closed.
